    Nonuse of Simple Fractions Indicators: Simple fraction indicators must not be used to enclose a simple fraction whose numerator and denominator are spearated by a diagonal line when the numerator and denominator are printed at the same level of writing on either side of the diagonal line and in the same type size as the rest of the mathematical expression.

    3. a + b/c + d


    4. 5/8 + 3/8 = 8/8 =1



    5. (x + y)/(x - y)






    6. 1/4¢ + 1/2¢ = 3/4¢


    7. 3/8" - 2/8" = 1/8"
