Introduction : this calculator is designed to help the braille transcriber calculate the number of volumes to use to braille a print document.
DIRECTIONS: to use this calculator, proceed as follows:
- Braille some number of pages from the print. 40 braille pages is a typical value. Enter that value under ""Number of braille pages produced"
- Determine the number of print pages represented by this amount of braille. Enter that number under "Number of print equivalent pages"
- Enter the total number of pages in the text under "Total number of pages"
- Click on the "Determine Volume" button.
- Adjust the value of "Pages per volume", each time followed by a click on the "Determine Volume" button.
- Continue this process until the value in number of volumes comes close to a whole number.
